HOW IT ALL STARTED
FAMILY OWNED & OPERATED
At our core, we’re a family-built business—one that grew from hard work, opportunity, and a commitment to bringing the next generation along for the ride.

Our founder, Ben Finnoe, began working in welding and fabrication at 16, gaining experience in production, fitting, and eventually project management by the age of 19. After years of working in detailing, operations, and leadership roles—including time spent self-employed and managing projects across the Spokane area—he started the business in 2007 by sourcing and detailing fabrication work.

A turning point came in 2016, when Ben’s son and nephew expressed interest in joining the business.

What started as a simple idea—handing them welding hoods and putting them to work—expanded into in-house fabrication. Operating out of a 5,000-square-foot shop on family property, they began fabricating together. Additional family members joined over time, with other nephews working in the shop and Ben’s sister-in-law supporting accounting and administration. The team grew to seven employees in that space, taking on increasingly complex projects before outgrowing the shop.
2020 — The Finnoe Design Team
Continued growth and demand led to the acquisition of our current facility in 2023. This move significantly expanded the company’s footprint and capabilities, positioning the business for long-term growth.

2016 — Ben's Shop
From those early days, the company grew steadily. In 2019, operations moved into a 10,000-square-foot facility on Regal, marking the company’s first dedicated commercial space. As workload and capabilities expanded, the facility was increased to 15,000 square feet with the addition of a dedicated parts building. This allowed for improved workflow, increased production capacity, and the ability to take on larger and more complex fabrication projects with greater efficiency.

Today, we operate out of nearly 400,000 square feet across 205 acres, with more than 140 employees. Our capabilities have grown alongside our team, allowing us to support high-volume production as well as complex, large-scale fabrication projects.

While the scale of our operations has changed significantly, the foundation of the business remains the same—built on hands-on experience, strong relationships, and a family-driven approach to how we work.
OUR MISSION
DELIVERING QUALITY YOU CAN RELY ON, EVERY TIME.
Here at Finnoe, we exist to build and fabricate opportunities. Opportunities that create more than just work, but something lasting in both people and the steel industry itself.
At our core, we believe what we’re truly building isn’t just steel. We’re building capability. We’re building confidence. We’re building something people can take pride in long after the job is complete.
The way we accomplish that is simple in concept, but difficult in execution. We develop exceptional people while continuously refining the systems that allow them to perform at a higher level. Because when the right people are placed in the right environment, supported by the right tools, processes, and feedback, they don’t just complete the work. They take ownership of it. They improve it. They push beyond expectations.
That’s where winning comes from.
It comes from someone in the shop looking at a number and saying, “I can beat that.” It comes from teams that understand what excellence looks like and push each other to achieve it together. It comes from turning experience into knowledge, knowledge into better systems, and better systems into better results.
When that happens, the impact extends far beyond the project itself.
It shows up in the pride our people feel in their work. It shows up in the trust our customers place in us. And it shows up in the ripple effect of what we build, including structures, systems, and opportunities that shape real experiences in the world around us.
Because at the end of the day, what we build matters.
It matters to the teams who create it. It matters to the people who use it. And it matters to the future of an industry we believe can be better, more efficient, more integrated, and more respected.
We’re here to help elevate that future.
We’re here to raise the standard of what it means to build and fabricate. To prove that this industry can be driven by technology, precision, and intelligence. And to create an environment where people are proud to be part of it.
That’s the vision: a world where skilled trades are elevated, where technology is embraced, and where people take pride in building work that truly makes an impact.
And that’s exactly what we’re building, one project, one system, and one person at a time.

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITY AND ITS FUTURE
Investing in the Next Generation
ABC IPC Construction Trades Night
We’re proud to participate in the ABC IPC Construction Trades Night each year, where we set up a hands-on booth focused on welding and steel fabrication. It’s an opportunity for students to get a real feel for the trade, ask questions, and explore career paths in the industry. We believe investing time in the next generation is essential to the future of our craft.

Supporting Our Community
Christmas Tree Elegance
Finnoe Design has been honored to take part in Spokane’s Christmas Tree Elegance in recent years. This event brings the community together in support of local charities, and we’re proud to contribute to something that makes a meaningful impact during the holiday season.

Supporting Local First Responders
Spokane Fire Department Training
We were proud to provide one of our unused buildings to the Spokane Fire Department for training exercises. This allowed first responders to conduct realistic, hands-on drills in a controlled environment. Supporting those who protect our community is something we take seriously, and we’re glad we could play a small part in helping them prepare.
